Julie Sweet has been named new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) at Accenture and David Rowland as new executive chairman, the new roles will be effective from Sep,1 2019. Currently Julie is serving as a CEO of North America region, one of the biggest Accenture market and Rowland is serving as interim CEO.
Julie Sweet, a 51 years old business leader playing key roles in the Accenture’s business strategy and growth, she is also part of global Accenture’s global management committee. Previously, Julie Sweet was Accenture’s general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer and was actively involved in executing the company’s M&A strategy and many of its largest and most complex commercial transactions.
Prior to joining Accenture in 2010, Julie Sweet was a partner for 10 years in the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.
David Rowland, 58, was named interim chief executive officer of Accenture on Jan. 10, 2019. Throughout his 36-year career with the company, Rowland has held significant leadership roles and played a major role in shaping Accenture’s growth strategy. Prior to his appointment as interim chief executive officer, he served as Accenture’s chief financial officer since July 2013.

As executive chair, Rowland will continue to play a key role and be actively involved in Accenture’s business. He will chair the board of directors, act as an advisor to Julie Sweet and be involved in Accenture’s long-term business strategy. He will also continue to represent Accenture with clients around the world and with key external groups.
